Reflective tape is a special type of tape whose surface contains reflective materials, such as glass microbeads, prism structures, or special reflective coatings. The tape is designed to reflect light back when it hits its surface, providing a significant visual warning effect in dark or low-light environments.

Type of reflective tape:

Advertising grade reflective tape: This tape is mainly used to make advertising signs and signage, with a basic reflective effect.

Crystal color grid reflective tape: made of special technology, the reflective effect is unique and bright.

PET and PC prism reflective film tape: These two tapes use a high refractive index prism structure, which can effectively improve the reflection efficiency and distance.

Glass microbeads high-strength film tape: This tape contains glass microbeads with a high refractive index, and when light shines on the microbeads, it will produce a strong reverse reflection.

PMMA micro-prism type super film tape: The micro-prism structure made of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) material has stronger reflective performance and longer service life.

Diamond-grade reflective tape: This tape has excellent reflective performance and is usually used in situations where high warning effects are required.

The service life of reflective tape

The life of reflective tape depends on a number of factors, including manufacturing materials, quality, environmental conditions and use. Here are some common types of reflective tape and their approximate service life:

PVC reflective tape: the service life is about 1-2 years.

PET material reflective tape: the service life is about 1-3 years.

PC material reflective tape: the service life is about 3-5 years.

PMMA material reflective tape: the service life is about 5-10 years.

It is important to note that these years are approximate estimates and actual useful life may vary due to the following factors:

Environmental conditions: Reflective tape in the outdoor long-term exposure to sunlight, rain, temperature changes and pollutants, its service life may be shortened. In contrast, reflective tape used indoors may last longer.

Manufacturing quality: The quality of reflective tape produced by different manufacturers may vary, and high-quality products usually have a longer service life.

Use and maintenance: Proper installation and regular cleaning and maintenance can extend the service life of reflective tape.

When the service life of reflective tape is close to or exceeds the expected life, its reflective performance may decline, as the reflective effect is weakened, the color is faded, or the tape begins to peel. In order to ensure the continuous warning effect and safety, it is recommended to check the condition of the reflective tape regularly and replace it if necessary.
